A Chamar o Futuro Project
The second moment to invite socially challenged territories to participate in collaborative societal transformation opened with the grant offered by Rede DLBC for a period of 3 years – 2021 until 2023. This was a wonderful possibility to continue hosting open community moments in these neighborhoods, as well as two further collaborative leadership laboratories and many other transformative journeys.
FUTURE IN MONSANTO
In the context of the pandemic (which attacked the lungs) Monsanto, Lisbon’s green lung, may become the symbol for urban resilience. This project aims to increase the resilience and well being of the local communities in the crown of Monsanto, to reestablish an interdependent relationship within the communities and with the ecosystem of the forest. Making accessible the mountain’s available endogenous and renewable resources will contribute to shifting the mindsets from scarcity to an abundant and prosperous local economy.
In this project addressed the topic of the future of food and water in the context of community resilience and worked with the neighbourhoods of 2 de Maio, Casalinho da Ajuda and Sete Moinhos.
the activities
The six activities that manifested between the beginning of 2021 and the end of 2023:
- Held space for 20 circles (over the 3 years duration of the project) with locals and stakeholders to address local needs, mainly focusing on the future access to resources, in the context of community resilience.
- Curated two 6 day (each over 3 months) immersive Co-leadership Program for 30 activists (locals and stakeholders) to embrace personal, collaborative and planet engagement transformation – the first took place in 2021 and the second in 2022.
- Two (english speaking) local leaders were invited to join each of the five editions of the REBUNDANCE Creative Leadership Program between autumn of 2021 and autumn of 2023.
- Four “Reality Dives” allowed Stakeholders to meet these neighborhoods around Monsanto, to support us in unraveling endogenous abundance.
- Collected data during all interventions to delayer local needs and intentions which contributed to a dynamic survey aiming to complement and update available data.
- A small amount of money was made available to kick start an emerging community lead project consensually decided in the context of the 20 circles.
This project will build bridges with other ongoing projects (local and international) to create the fertile ground for synergy.
